Exceptional Breeding Standards

Mountain Rose Sheepadoodle puppies are from elite purebred registered Poodles and our coveted duel registered Old English Sheepdogs - American Kennel Club (AKC) and the European Kennel Federation (EKF).

Our sires and dams have been DNA tested for the presence of certain genes known to cause health issues in both Poodles and Old English Sheeepdogs. All of our sires and dams are 100% clear of those "problem" genes that cause Progressive Retinal Atrophy, Degenerative Myelopathy, Seizures, Thyroid Disease, Sebaceous Adenitis, Von Willebrand Disease, and Osteochondrodysplasia.

OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) testing is conducted on all parent dogs. This testing helps us determine whether or not hip dysplasia is present in the parent dogs and the probability in offspring. All of our parent dogs must show that they are clear of any type of hip dysplasia and must score above average for the breed. 

 We implement the "Super Dog" program (Early Neurological Stimulation) beginning when pups are 3 days of age. 

 Because we have many years of professional experience in training service dogs, we are able to provide an advanced socialization program which involves lots of love, attention, proper handling and proper sound adaption and conditioning.  

 ​All of our puppies are born in our house under our strict supervision. We do not let our mom dogs "free whelp". However, we allow the moms their space but we do step in to assist as needed. 

All of our puppies are examined by a licensed veterinarian and must be given a clean bill of health prior to our puppies going to their forever homes.

You'll receive a certified pedigree for your puppy. This pedigree shows your puppy's lineage documented directly off of each parent dog's certified pedigree. Along with your pup's pedigree, we also provide you with copies of the parent's certified pedigrees as well. We believe that it is important to provide our new puppy owners with assurance that the puppy is a true Sheeepadoodle hailing from the highest quality Poodle and Old English Sheepdog bloodlines. 

Your puppy receives their first round of vaccinations at 7 weeks of age. When you take your Sheepadoodle puppy home at 10 weeks, you'll need to make arrangements with your veterinarian to accommodate the necessity of administering the subsequent 3 remaining required rounds of vaccines. This should occur in 3-4 week inetrvals.

All puppies are susceptible to getting worms. It's just part of being a puppy/dog. This is why we deworm our puppies according to the recommendations of our DVM, which is every 2 weeks beginning at 2 weeks of age. We use the highest quality, human grade medication - Pyrantel Pomoate.

Because we love our dogs so much, it is a joy to have them in our lives. So, aside from our "technical" commitment to puppy socialization, we just love and appreciate being around our puppies and our adult dogs all day long. We play, train and have a lot of fun together.
